15 Criminally Undermentioned Anime Characters That Are Not Given Enough Love

I am stressed. Extremely stressed. Because I just found out that I have two weeks to a midterm and an exam both of which I haven’t studied … a single thing. I was so stressed I couldn’t eat dinner. What makes things worse is because its my fault for being such a humongous procrastinator. But everybody’s also unsympathetic because … I didn’t have to do the exam. Its not even in my school curriculum, but I signed up for it, thinking I have a brilliant brain that can juggle both words and numbers.

So while my eyes are rolling all about in my head as I eye the numbers, I decide that THAT’S IT. I AM GOING TO WRITE A FRIVOLOUS POST. Hence here it is … 15 Amazing Characters Who Aren’t Given Enough Love. Link it to Valentine’s Day or Week if you want, but to be honest its just me wanting to fangirl about characters that are never given enough attention in the online anime community, whether its due to the anime being not popular enough or other characters in popular anime attracting more attention than them.

Gon Freecss (Hunter x Hunter 2011)

Gon is one of the most unique and least annoying male leads of all long-running shounen series. Having great animal-like instincts and very interesting logic coated in optimism and a strong belief in himself, Gon is a delightful protagonist to root for. Together with Killua, he’s also one of the most adorable protagonists ever that invokes the type of motherly sentiment most of us feel towards characters like Kuroko. I am forever literally squealing at how cute he is when he isn’t in battling mode.

Fuuto Asahina (Brothers’ Conflict)

In Brothers’ Conflict, most people are either big fans of Natsume (I can name the people over here who are absolutely crazy for him, including me), or prefer tsunderes like Yuusuke. Futo appears to be a bastard in the anime and I never liked the younger brother type of male characters, but after playing his route in the original game I have completely changed my mind. He’s not only exquisitely beautiful and smexy his own right, but he’s also actually very vulnerable and sensitive to the MC’s various feelings and actions. The guy really cares. He may be very mean at times, but honestly, that’s just his mouth. I get goosebumps (the ‘good’ kind) everytime he says ‘Oneesan~’

Yuu Otosaka (Charlotte)

Whether Charlotte is a trainwreck or just Jun Maeda’s magic touch selling like hotcakes for no good reason in Japan, you’ve got to agree that Yuu is one of the most complex protagonists in 2015. Whether its trying to get one up on everybody by cheating or letting himself sink entirely into the doldrums, or not trying to save the world just because, the guy has interesting motivations and reactions that really draw you in because of his unpredictability.

Tomoyo Sakagami (Clannad)

In Clannad and its better sequel, everybody’s all about Nagisa and Tomoya, who admittedly are the main characters and drawn to each other romantically for good reasons. Tomoyo, on the other hand, gets only one special. *sobs* Why her? Because she kicks ass, is independent, and is not as easily categorised as is mostly the fate of other ‘harem’ characters.

Yin (Darker Than Black)

Yin is the manifestation of my personal bias in Darker Than Black and not only because she’s a useful, lovable kuudere who isn’t supposed to have emotions but develops them naturally over the course of the series. Perhaps my soft spot has something to do with the fact that she’s visually handicapped, but struggles to do something for those she cares about, all the same.

Wendy Marvell (Fairy Tail)

I have never heard of any other Wendy fan. As part of the Fairy Tail frontline, this adorable girl hasn’t been given enough attention, which is puzzling because she also possesses the Fairy Tail character trademark of fighting for her family at all times, attaining progress at a speed at least on par with Lucy, and has also been given a relatively tragic backstory. Just because she’s flat-chested and isn’t loud like Natsu or hot like Gray doesn’t give you the right to ignore her, people!

Hajime Ichinose (Gatchaman Crowds)

As one of the most quirky and interesting female protagonists in a series that is really masquerading as a socio-political commentary, Hajime appears to be loud-mouthed and ridiculously optimistic. But, in a way similar to Gon, she is very observant and draws her own conclusions on the operations of society. Her questions about social trends and crowd mentality would, I daresay, make you question yours as well.

Ayumi Yamada (Honey & Clover)

The way this girl nurses, maintains, and tries for her unrequited love to turn back and look at her makes her literally … Best Girl. Honey & Clover doesn’t quite focus on any one character, but Yamada’s side story remains one of the best told in all unrequited crushes in romance anime – nuanced, dramatic, and full of the eternal spring and passion of youth.

Ai Austin (Sunday Without God)

Seeing that Ai is my mascot, this sounds like I am trying to promote myself, but I really am not. Ai may not be as fully developed or introspectively interesting as characters in similar stories like Kino’s Journey or Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita, but she has that adorable ‘little girl’ charm in facing the obstacles on her adventure.

Migi (Parayste)

Aside from Tamiya Ryouko, Migi has to be one of the most interestingly developed characters of Parasyte. Its change from aloof, extremely logical and self-preserving extra-terrestrial species to a more humane form which learns empathy and emotions is subtle, but extremely rewarding.

Akashi Seijuro (Kuroko no Basket)

Because Akashi is one of the main characters with the least airtime, viewers don’t quite know him as well as say, Aomine or Kise. Even with a rushed backstory, one can see that Akashi has not always been one-dimensionally terrifying. He really used to be a good leader in his middle school days, only wanting the best for the team, when the friendship between the five snapped and his perspective changed.

Johann Libert (Monster)

What makes Monster an exceptional thriller series is partly due to its amazingly sinister antagonist. Johann is a real terror which makes its viewers continuously question whether he is really as evil as we all think him to be, especially when he’s flawlessly charismatic, ridiculously good-looking, and intelligently executes smooth cover-ups that make his alibi literally … perfect. He is definitely one of anime’s toughest criminals to catch.

Asuka Langley Soryu (Neon Genesis Evangelion)

The world can rave about Rei or Shinji or Neon Genesis Evangelion as an entirety, but the mostly ‘bitchy’, bad-tempered and spoiled Asuka is the one that made me invest in NGE as a whole. Behind her tsundere-ish facade is an extremely emotionally vulnerable and insecure teenage girl struggling with issues of belonging and identity. The nuance with which this is revealed in NGE is what most later iterations of her character prototype fail to fully recapture and reproduce.

Fakir (Princess Tutu)

Shoujo fans look out, Fakir is one of the most underrated and least mentioned shoujo male lead that’s much more worth fangirling over than some modern male characters. Princess Tutu is easily one of the most heartbreaking love stories in the shoujo genre ever, and that is no doubt partly due to him. He truly represents the notions of ‘love takes all forms’ and ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’.

Fuwa Aika (Zetsuen no Tempest)

Characters as ‘dangerously likeable’ like Aika are very few and far between. The only similar ones are Holo from Spice & Wolf, C.C from Code Geass, and to a lesser extent, Hitagi Senjougahara from Bakemonogatari. But Aika is likely to be the least known of the lot. It is unfortunate that we don’t get enough characters like her, perhaps because its actually hard to write female characters that are of that particular level of complexity. But Aika, like the other three, is not only witty, a little snarky, independent, confident, and teasing, but also vulnerable in ways she tries hard to hide. Anime needs more female characters like these.

In the interest of length, there are many characters that I left out in this post. If the response to this post is good, I’ll consider writing another post with the rest of the characters I have in mind. 😀 Are there any characters you feel that are underrated or criminally undermentioned? Feel free to comment, discuss or like, and as usual, thank you for reading to the end 🙂

  1. Nice list you made. I would choose Tomoyo definitely for Valentines, if I was Tomoya. I would also pick Asuka but only if she is willing to put aside her pride and don’t me idiot like Shinji.

Also, I am sorry to hear that you are stressing out. I know what it is like and it feels awful in college. Just do your best on exams and please take good care of yourself. I will pray for your exams. 🙂

    • Haha yessss Tomoyo! I agree that Asuka can be outwardly annoying at times xD If I were a guy I probably won’t pick her at first glance … unless I happen to see more of her dere side lol.
Thank you very much 🙂 I feel better now, and less negative ^^

      • You’re welcome and I know how you feel in school. I wish I could help but I am far. I can only pray for you 🙂
Tomoyo would be my first choice. Sadly, I would agree with you about Asuka. She can be annoying.

        Liked by 1 person

      • That’s really good enough. I don’t expect anybody to do anything much for me because of distance and other practical reasons, but thank you 🙂
That’s interesting. I haven’t met many Tomoyo fans who like her to that extent 🙂 as a character she’s much more interesting than Nagisa, though I understand why Nagisa is a better fit for Tomoya. As for Asuka, I was really annoyed with her, then that all changed to pity somehow along the way.

      • You’re welcome. If you need support, you can always ask me 🙂
Tomoyo is an interesting character. I really like her route in the OVA anime. I can totally see Tomoya paired with her.

  2. I know exactly how you feel right now about the exam! I definitely took a break from a really important project yesterday just to write some “frivolous” blog posts! I really hope your exam goes well!

Great job on the list! I absolutely agree with you about Fakir! He is such an amazing leading man, and it’s kind of sad that he doesn’t get as much love as he should! 😀

    Liked by 1 person

    • Haha ‘frivolous’ is the way to go when stressed, right? It makes for a great form of relaxation 🙂 Thanks!!
Fakir has never been mentioned enough, its like people forget he exists >< Princess Tutu won't even be half as enjoyable if not for him! 🙂

      • Natsume’s was the pain for me do to some misinformation on the Internet. @_@ Kept trying to get a scene to appear that was not supposed to appear that day. *headdesk*

I just want to hear Fuuto talk (and sing? Please?) to me some more! I don’t care about the other guys or the plot! But I imagine he’s going to be even more sullen now. I’m hoping the game turns out good.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Oh no that sounds tough. I haven’t done his route yet because I was saving the best for the last xD but even if I get annoyed I wouldn’t give up because well, it’s Natsume xD
Hahaha same. I really want more of Fuuto’s voice and his character. Even though I think I probably can’t get used to him x another girl other than Ema in the new game. Not that Ema is a good character but .. It’s the whole stepsister/older sister thing that partly makes Fuuto stand out imo. ^^

  3. Shiroyuni! Hope you’re doing fine. Yeah, School do stressed me out too with lots of requirements. You are not alone don’t worry.. 😀

What I like the most in teh character is Yamada Ayumi.. Oh H&C days…. >////< I really hate Mayama.. She's right he's "baka" haha… I admire her bravery to love without anything in return.. but it really hurts… good thing there's Nomiya… ❤

    Liked by 1 person

    • Yep, I am fine as of now 🙂 Thanks for asking! Haha, I just rant about school stress sometimes, I know about 80% of the bloggers here have that problem so I don’t rant about it too much 🙂
Yamada is also one of my favourite characters, also for the same reason of having the courage to pursue her love even though she knew it will never be returned. I never hated Mayama, but he really is an idiot I agree! I was so glad when everything still turned out okay for her and she moved on with Nomiya 🙂

    • I love Aika because she’s really too unique. ^^ Wow its impressive you are watching so much lol! Hehehehe Gon is like too cute I am dying of cuteness everytime I watch HxH lol (I am still barely done with half of it though, a good thing :D)

      Liked by 1 person

      • Yup, she’s not the usual type of girl you see in anime. Well, i’ve been watching anime since high school but there are still a lot to watch too.
Oh, you still get to see him.. maybe i’ll just watch some HxH AMVs. 😊

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yup, i’ve taken breaks before. Sometimes a month passes with me not watching any anime at all. However, when i got into uni and started watching long series like One Piece, i watch at least one episode a day. Now that i’m on my last year in uni, i haven’t been watching as much though.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Wow, so you watch One Piece. I have always entertained the idea of getting myself stuck in long series like these, but I reckoned I would rather invest the time in other shorter anime series.
Hmm, because you’re busier I guess? But yeah I sometimes take breaks as well because I feel like I already finished the good anime lol and nothing else catches my eye.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yup, and still watching until now. It’s One Piece that made me watch more long animes. Whenever i think of the 700+ episodes i have watched, 100+ episodes of other animes just don’t fell that long anymore. Haha.
Yes, i am busy at the moment and i haven’t watched any new anime this month, orz. What i really can’t stop doing is reading. Even at my busiest times, i always find time to read at least one chapter of a novel or manga. It’s my way of relieving stress.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha yeah. I watched a few longer anime and I can understand the attraction of long anime. After all, it guarantees long-term enjoyment xD Way better than watching a bunch of shorter ones that I don’t end up liking haha.
That’s interesting. For me its the opposite. I’d always find time to watch at least an episode of anime during my busiest times, because anime has visual + audio so its a more immersive (and escapist) experience. Unless I am hooked on a manga/novel of course. xD When I am addicted to story I am reading my life is gone for the next couple of days haha. I just literally spend every living hour on it, and I forgo anime for it as well.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yup, and i don’t feel satisfied with just 13 episodes in an anime. Well, not all but mostly. It’s either i end up reading the manga whenever that happens or i get disappointed when i’ve already read it. So yeah, that’s what made me like reading more. I get to see the real ending and not some cliff hanging episode.

        Liked by 1 person

      • I don’t shy away from 13 episode anime, but I did marathon a few of them recently and I felt something missing at the end of it all. Plus, I don’t like to continue reading the manga so I just get more disappointed at times … haha. Yeah I know, that’s the advantage of reading the source material. But somehow I never got around to accepting that, even if I get to see the real ending. To me, the anime and manga are different art forms altogether. If the anime ends weirdly, its really frustrating, but too bad. If I read the manga, I start from the start and then evaluate it as a work on its own.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Oh, but what i really like about short series is that i can watch it in one go. It just feels different if you watch it one episode per week. It’s easier to form constructive thoughts when you’ve watched the whole series. And i do start from the very beginning when i read an anime’s manga. There are lots of skipped parts in anime so i feel that i won’t understand it as a whole if i start at the middle. They are two different forms of media for me too but it’s really hard not to compare them.

        Liked by 1 person

      • That is true. I also usually watch 13 eps in one go – especially for seasonal anime nowadays. But I usually am less able to analyse it effectively because its a whole barrage of info thrown at me at once. But that has more to do with my habits of marathoning than anything xD

Yeppp. Though I normally dislike reading a story again if I restart from the start of the manga, though they are – sort of – different. I don’t have a habit of rewatching series either lol. I like to place my bets on something new. But I don’t know if this habit will change in the future since I am gradually depleting the supply of good anime I have saved up haha.

        Liked by 1 person

      • I don’t always watch currently airing anime. I wait for it to finish before i start watching but for those animes that i really like, another day of waiting is just torture so i watch the episode right after its release. Well, people do have different ways of handling their watching habits.
I don’t usually rewatch anime too. But i always have a copy of some of my favorites saved in my computer just in case i got bored, there’s no internet, there’s nothing else i want to watch or when i just felt like watching. Haha. And i have this habit of watching the first episode of the currently airing/recommended animes just to check them out. It’s always the first episode that decides whether i will take it or leave it. 😀

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha yeah same for me! I don’t like watching airing anime as well lol. Especially sports anime because they are always tension-strung, and I would just kill myself if I had to wait xD for example currently I am only watching one airing anime, and its the kind that is interesting enough for the wait isn’t torturous. Thankfully.

Haha if I just banked on the first episode rule, I’ll probably ditch like 99% of the series because its normally not enough to pull me in LOL. Exceptions are very few :3 Ohhh nice but doesn’t that take up a lot of space? Like storing anime episodes in your computer.

        Liked by 1 person

      • With sports anime you really have to wait till it’s finished. The first time i watched Haikyuu i really loved it so i wait every week for its release. But because of the cliff hangers i stopped watching and waited for it to finish before i watched it again. Haha. I have lots of anime on-hold because of that.
Lol, i do try to check out other people’s recommendations/reviews too. There are anime’s that seems boring at the start but are actually quite good later on. Yup, it takes up a lot of space. I actually have an external hard drive solely for my favorite anime’s. xD

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha exactly. I didn’t watch Haikyuu when it was airing, but when I watched it when it was finished I was like whew luckily i didn’t even attempt to watch it when it was airing xD I just basically don’t start everything lol. I have a bad memory so if i just put something on-hold, chances are i have to rewatch everything again once it finishes airing xD

Ah yes that’s good. Though nowadays I only take on recommendations if its given by somebody with similar taste, and i basically only read reviews of people i know i.e. here. I know I don’t conform to majority taste so I find the bloggers with similarly ‘weirder’ tastes to read. Wow that’s some dedication 😀

        Liked by 1 person

      • I should’ve known that before too. Now, i learned not to watch one episode a week for those types of anime, and for those with manga i have already read. Same here, my memory isn’t that good as well. I always forget almost everything with the one’s i put on-hold so rewatching is the only solution. But sometimes i really can’t help but put some on-hold coz there are times when it becomes boring midway or when i stopped for a bit because i got busy unexpectedly and forgot to continue. D:
I get recommendations mostly from my friends online/offline not from random people too. I am not very fond of reading reviews tbh. Sometimes it’s too technical or too long and boring to read. I only read those from people i know too and some short ones. xD
Not really. I don’t have any other anime collection aside from those. 😦

        Liked by 1 person

      • Ohh but if you already read the manga, technically there wouldn’t be much surprises right? OHHH I agree I realised that watching airing stuff means you sort of get bored waay easier in the middle. Because of the slow pace of 1 ep per week I think there comes a point where you are just not as invested in the story anymore. Same, I used to forget that I was watching airing anime lol. xD

That’s nice. I know what you mean about reviews. I usually only read them because they are written by people I know i.e. WordPress friends on here, or I am just checking out the taste of a blogger by the things he/she writes about in the review, not because of the anime myself. Whatever anime I pick up now, I usually go more with ‘instinct’. Whatever that means xD

Oh, but that can’t be worse than me lol. I think I am sometimes afraid to admit that I don’t own any anime at all xD Probably a travesty by the standards of people here >< But there are too many concerns, and they are mainly practical ):

        Liked by 1 person

      • For me, i still wait for it to finish airing. Maybe because i already know what the story is so i always put them for later. I am not very patient tbh, so i find other things to watch/read while i wait. Then i just totally forget because i am really forgetful. xD
Not that i’m against doing long reviews though. It’s just a personal preference of mine. ^^ I do occasionally read random reviews just to see if it can catch my attention. Mostly, it doesn’t. >.> I understand coz i use my ‘instinct’ in choosing what to watch too. xD I always make sure to read the plot first too.
        It’s kinda normal for my otaku friends here to have a collection of anime series so it’s not so odd for us. Or maybe we’re all just poor people who can’t buy a lot of merchs. ;_;

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha I see. Lol yeah I was never patient either which is why I always get sort of bored in the middle. xD
Haha yeah I know. Long reviews can be both good to read if you are interested in the person’s view, but it can be too long if it was just by a random person and you just randomly chanced about it xD I don’t actually read the plot normally, because almost always the anime turns out to be completely different from the scenario I imagined. Like in terms of atmosphere, pacing, tension – things that can’t be captured in a plot description xD

Hahaha I am thinking that is more of the ‘poor people’ part xD A lot of people on here do have large collections of manga for example, or anime. I feel a little bad admitting I don’t own much and therefore almost saying like I am not a ‘true anime fan’ per se. ><

        Liked by 1 person

      • I guess that’s the case with others too. Yup, we do have different perspectives so it’s only natural to have different interpretations of a certain anime/manga. You’re lucky if you found someone with the same view as yours.
In my case, i always start with the title and plot. Yes, it can really be different from what you expect but it’s what piques my interest most of the time, along with the genre.
Yep, maybe so. But i don’t think having few anime/manga collections means you’re not a true anime fan. It’s just that the circumstances aren’t in your favor. Haha.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha yeah I view it that way too. Even if the person likes the same anime/manga as you, you may just like different things about it.
Exactly. I find that part of the whole surprise in anime is the fact that despite sort of knowing what you are going into when you start something, there’s always this element of surprise in it. And the fact that I still keep getting surprised makes me stick to anime. 🙂
Haha that is true. I comfort myself in the fact that I buy some merchandise of my favorite characters. Are you planning to start collecting anything?

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yes, exactly. Kinda like two people liking the same anime but shipping the MC with different characters. x_x
Well, some anime’s are quite predictable but i always like the surprising/unexpected moments in it. It’s the overall enjoyment for me. 😉
It’s still a plan but yes. Figures are a bit expensive so they’re not on my list right now. Do you have any suggestions as to what i should collect first? The less expensive ones, maybe?

        Liked by 1 person

      • Or liking different parts of the anime. There are certain anime which develop characters, plot well enough to produce an entirely divided fanbase anyway xD
Yeppppp which is why I love watching controversial series like Cross Ange and Code Geass. I get a kick out of the surprise. xD
Figures are really expensive. I went all the way to Akirabara last Dec and yet I couldn’t bear to spend on any T.T I only collect badges, keyrings, keychains, calendars, that sort of stuff. They are the cheapest out of everything that’s why 😀

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yup, it’s just amazing how the authors can do that. xD
Haven’t watched Cross Ange yet but Code Geass is a good anime. I suddenly remembered Pandora Hearts, the manga. Lots of surprises there too.
Hmm, maybe i’ll collect the same things too. I’m quite interested in the calendars. I have seen some before.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yep, Code Geass is one of my favourites. As for Pandora Hearts, I haven’t watched the anime or read the manga, so I can’t comment on that 😀
Having said that, I find calendars hard to find myself haha. I only saw one and bought one (for Daiya no Ace). The rest of the stuff like keychains, notebooks, tumblers etc. are easier to find, and generally more available at worldwide conventions xD

        Liked by 1 person

      • Pandora Hearts’ manga is great, the anime is incomplete but quite good too. I really need to watch Daiya no Ace too. Can’t find time to watch everything in my to-watch list. >.<
I really want those calendars, i hope i can find them here. Yup, those are easy to find and collect. They're affordable too.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha you really need to watch Daiya no Ace, I agree 😉 Though I understand that feeling, I have way to much on all of my to-watch/to-read lists as well. Not to mention a variety of other interests so what happens is I don’t get much time to actually do anything much xD
Do you mind me asking what country you are in btw? 🙂 I understand if you don’t want to though. Yep those are my best options 🙂

Unfortunately I am going to be not so free from now onwards, but oh wells at least its not never ending … xD

Haha yeah we are famous for that. Ooh what kind of job? That’s interesting. I have no idea how pro-work our working environment is to others lol.

Something related to electronics and communications engineering. I’ve read and heard too that the working environment in Singapore is nice. The pay is nice too. XD But even if i want to work there, i have to stay in our country for 5 years still. I am a scholar and i’m required to work here first. 🙂

Haha yeah the working environment here is a generally positive one I would say? Not very sure about the pay though xD O.O wow you’re a government scholar or something? That’s really cool!

Well, info came from someone i know so i guess it’s reliable. Haha, yup. I have to keep my grades up so i can’t afford to slack off.

      • Haha I am thinking of rewatching the first season myself, especially when its really been a while and I forgot all the details xD Well, Kageyama is actually my favourite character, but then again the whole team is so cute :3 I can’t imagine them apart myself 🙂 Do you have any favourites?

Ah I see. That’s nice. I’ll be waiting for you to come then, even if its in a few years xD Haha I see, I understand that sort of pressure. Its what we all do in uni to some extent 🙂 Though the pressure is more real for bonded scholarships I presume 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      • I’ll have to do that with Durarara coz i’ ve forgotten almost everything and i’m thinking of watching the new season. Really? I like him too. It was Noya at first coz he’s so hyper and cute. Then i liked Kageyama and now i like Kenma more. XD I agree that there are lots of good guys there. I was actually talking about your Daiya no A favs, i guess you misunderstood but it’s okay too. I have a lot of favs in Haikyuu. 😉
Lol, you’re really patient. It won’t take a year tho. Yup, and my chosen course is very difficult one too. If you also add the fact that i don’t really liked my course that much. ><

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha oh yes, that’s my plan for Durarara as well, though that is if I still even have hope in the series to want to go back lol. Ooo I liked Noya too haha, but I think my fave has always been Kageyama:) omggg I can’t believe I got that wrong haha!! My fav is definitely definitely Miyuki hahahaha 😀 though I really like Sawamura and Chris as well. Actually, I like most of the 3rd years but I think at 25 eps you probably aren’t gonna feel much of them yet xD how about you?

Ohh I see. Is it because it’s too detailed that’s why you don’t like it or something? Why did you choose it if you didn’t? 😮

        Liked by 1 person

      • I’m like that with other anime as well. Those two are the most liked character in Haikyuu. 😀 Haha, i have mixed feelings with Miyuki. >< But i really like Chris. XD I'm gonna continue the series after the tour.
Not really. I just realized that i'm not suited with the practices. And i took the course coz i passed the scholarship for it, not that i like it in the first place. It seems interesting at that time.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha yeah! Though I think there are some people who like Hinata a lot as well? As well as some of the yaoi fan couples haha.

Ohh Miyuki is abit of a complex character. He’s manipulative but he means well, smart and he really can be stubborn at times..tbh sometimes I also have a hard time articulating why I like him haha. I really love Chris too though :3
Ah I see. I thought it may have something to do with your scholarship. It’s also a common phenomenon over here unfortunately :3

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yup, he’s one cute and lively character too. Haha, well it’s a den of hot sports guys. I guess it’s my fujoshi side XD That’s right. He can be cocky sometimes but I love his intelligence in the game. Chris’ personality is just adorable. To think he was so scary at first. XD
Well, i really like math and science related subjects so i thought i might like it in the end but till now, i’m doubtful. It really helped me and my family with finances tho.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Hahaha yeah sports anime does have a knack of pulling out everybody’s fujoshi side xD Miyuki’s intelligence is one of his most amazing points. I can’t believe I sort of disliked Chris at first too, when he was so cold. I like the new warmth in his eyes now ^^
Ah I see. At least its served a purpose of helping out with your finances, which is a real concern. I guess you could always finish serving your bond and go do the other stuff you’re more interested in. There’s a whole of time after all ^^

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha, true! And with how the story seems to pair some characters, we really can’t help it. XD Chris sort of had a bad attitude at first so that’s understandable. He’s really considerate now too, almost too good to me. Haha. I’m thinking of trying a job along my own course first. Someone i know hated her course but liked her job. I might be the same. If that didn’t work out, then i’ll try other jobs i like. 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      • Not to mention the vast amount of fanfic and drawings out there xD
Chris’ bad attitude didn’t last very long and I am glad about that. Yessss he’s actually way too kind as a person its quite heartbreaking ><

Ah yes. I think most jobs are very different from the courses. That's a viable option haha. After all there's no rush & you can take your time to figure out what you really like 🙂

      • Yup.. I’ve been reading some doujinshi too. XD
Too bad he’s a third year and will be graduating soon. I actually kinda like Yuki too. Characters with that kind of personality are my type. :3
I still have to worry about my upcoming board exams tho. It need to review almost everything i have studied in college, ugh. =_=

        Liked by 1 person

      • Oooooh yes Yuki too. I like him a lot as well (and his type of personality usually) :3 He’s the first one I noticed amongst the third-year lineup.
Oh man, that sounds tough (especially when it means you have to revise practically everything). Take it slow and steady though, you can do it! *fist pump*

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yup, I noticed him first too among the third years. With everyone, i took notice of Miyuki first. 🙂
True. I’d better hurry and start reviewing now but it’s almost vacation and my lazy bones are acting up. (⌣̯̀⌣́)

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha I think its really because Yuki’s also pretty good-looking himself. Plus that pro aura~ xD Miyuki is good-looking in his own right hahaha.
Ikr, I am personally super lazy (when it comes to writing sometimes or thinking) but I guess there’s no need to rush anyways. You’re still churning out posts relatively more frequently than I am hahaha.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yup, yup! Ugh, i wannasee him smile at least once. XD I’m kinda curious about Harucchi’s face too. It’s always covered by his hair. Haha. Mizuki made an impact to me on the first few chapters. Though i didn’t come to like him that much then, he’s gradually making his way to my heart, lol. He’s just irresistible at this point. >.<
Well, i'm relatively free right now. I actually have a post i'm making (about the 5-day trip i had) but i'm too lazy so it's not finished yet. Somehow i don't want to rush myself. I wouldn't want my post to come out really boring or uninteresting.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Ahaha yeah, I know that urge of wanting to see a stoic character smile 🙂 Hehehe Harucchi’s face will be seen soon, if you continue watching 🙂 IKRRRR Miyuki is irresistible. Its why alot of us have fallen for him hahaha. xD
Oooh haha I spy such a post on my reader lol. Will be reading it soon. But I think its fine that you take your time 🙂 That’s the beauty of having your own blog hahaha.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yup, it’s sometimes frustrating. I saw Harucchi’s eye (just one eye) in the episodes i watched earlier. He’s cuter than i though, lol. XD Someone stop Miyuki from being so irresistible please! >.<
I see you've read it already. I still haven't worked on the part 2 coz i was reading a c-novel but i hope you read it too. 😉 Yup, i see other bloggers aren't really posting everyday, like i originally thought so i'm pacing myself regarding posting too. 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      • Hahaha yepp he is really very cute :3 He’s the cutest one in Daiya 🙂 Miyuki isn’t so irresistible to all of us for no reason xD
Sure, I will read your part 2 cos I have to know what happens after! 😀 Nahh haha a lot of us have lots of stuff to do as well I think, the ones who post everyday are more likely to be the ones who are newer to blogging? The rest of us just procrastinate hehehe :3

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yes, yes. I like it when he pumps his fist in the air while blushing. That’s just adorable! XD That’s true. >.<
Oh, thanks in advance. Haha, i guess that's one quality of most bloggers, from what i can see. It's not all that bad though. Anyway, I wouldn't be able to handle it if the people i'm following will be posting everyday. That'd be too much, lol.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha yes exactly! I loved that scene, it really showcased his cute side. We need more of Haruichi!! xD
Haha yeah. I like to read people’s posts, but sometimes when there are too many posts per day I feel very overwhelmed. If its the same blogger I’ll end up just picking one to read haha.

        Liked by 1 person

      • I’m a bit disappointed that i only get to see one of his eyes during the first season. I can’t wait to see more of him in season 2! (i finally finished the first one) :D.
Yup, that’s what i do sometimes too. When there aren’t that many new posts, i visit the blogs of some people i follow, just to see if i missed some of their good posts.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Oh wow you are quite fast. I was bawling at the end of the first season and I haven’t started on the second >< how did you find it!

Haha yep. I usually have certain bloggers whom I am more inclined to visit their blogs first too, if not because I am closer friends with them or that I know they write really interesting stuff :3

        Liked by 1 person

      • Not very fast coz it took 2-3 weeks, i think. Haha. It would’ve been better if i finished it in just a few days. I don’t know if i’ll start with season 2 right away. I still have to finish Yowamushi Pedal. >.> I’ll be posting my reaction to it, maybe tonight or tomorrow. XD
I’m still looking for other blogs to follow. Do you have blogs you can recommend?

        Liked by 2 people

      • Hahah I see. Wow it’s me with the lousy sense of time then. Didn’t realize it has been 2-3 weeks 😅 how are you finding Yowamushi Pedal? It’s considerably above average and I did enjoy it, just that it isn’t as good as Haikyuu or Kuroko or Daiya for me xD
I really am not sure who else you are following as of now xD I assume you follow people like Lyn, CoffeeHipster, Takuto, krystallina, Arria Cross? I was thinking of doing a post sometime for the bloggers but I haven’t decided whether to do it or not yet. :p do tell me if you have followed these people so that I can recommend others 😀

        Liked by 1 person

      • Well, time flies so fast. We’ve been chatting here in your post for a month already. Haha! I think it’s quite good too but yeah, it’s not as good as Haikyuu and Daiya. I think it’s less exciting.
Yup, i am following them all. Also, LitaKino, Crimson, OGZ, Rose Regine, Sindyblue, Matt and some others. I’d be glad to check out other blogs you can recommend. 😉

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha I know right? It has really been so long ^^ I personally think the characters in Yowamushi Pedal aren’t as lovable as Daiya & HQ & KnB, even though I still do generally support & like them 🙂 Still, these are already the big 4 of modern sports anime, and its hard to find any other good ones!

Haha I think you are basically following all that I can recommend at this point :p At least, these are the ones who either blog more regularly or in more similar content xD I’ll tell you if I find a good blog I can recommend 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yes, really. I’ve finished the first season of YP the other day. Midousuji-kun really pissed the hell out of me. Ugh, he’s so creepy i got goosebumps! The end was a cliffhanger so i had to watch the first few episodes of the next season too. I guess i’ll finish it to continue the momentum. Yup, they are but another sports anime is coming this season. It’s a soccer anime called Days and i’m looking forward to it. 😀
Oh, good. I’ll be looking forward to any blog you can recommend in the future. 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yeah he is single-handedly one of the weirdest and most disgustingly painted characters in sports anime. With his tongue rolling about and all >< ah yes i remember the first season was a cliffhanger. Ooh I didn't know there was such an anime this season! I better check it out!

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yesss. I really couldn’t help but hate him even when i knew of his backstory. I wasn’t actually planning on watching the second season yet but i just can’t stop at that moment. Haha. Yup, it’s quite interesting coz it’s a different sport. More sports anime, more fun! XD

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha my knowledge of his backstory actually helped me in reducing my dislike for him. But it all came back soon enough lol!
Nah, its good to go at your pace and just watch whatever you want to watch 🙂 Yeah, watching different sports can be good! Though I think through anime, my favourite sport is baseball because I think its the most interesting. xD

        Liked by 1 person

      • Not for me. I don’t know why. Haha. Yup, but i have to watch now or whenever i can coz this coming May will be the start of our review for board exams. I can’t watch or even go online that much anymore. 😢
My favorite would still be volleyball, i guess. It’s the sport i am personally playing since childhood anyway. But baseball is really interesting too. Let’s see how it goes with soccer. XD

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha wow so you still have some stuff in May huh. Good luck with it! I understand though, I hate the times when I am so busy I barely watch anything or go online (like now ><)

Hahaha that's pretty natural. To me all team sports are the same because its not like I play those regularly anyway :p But thanks to anime I now understand these sports better. xD

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yup, and this season more anime’s are added to my to-watch list. Urgh. If i don’t finish my backlogs until early next month, they’ll have to wait until after the board exams. I hate it too. My friends told me not to bring my laptop during the review but i told them ‘NO, it has to be beside me even if i won’t use it’. HAHA

        Liked by 1 person

      • Oh man your board exams are in October right. That’s a few months of not watching anime &/or coming online! 😮 😮 wow. I can’t imagine it at this point but I think it may become reality for me as well some time.
Is the review exams? If so, you can bring your laptop? Wow hahaha.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yup, it’s gonna be one of the hardest months of my life. >_< I guess this is/will be experienced at least once by students like us. We just have to stay strong, it will pass. 😉
It's like a series of classes where your abilities will be continuously tested. There'll be an exam almost everyday, depending on the review center you are in, so it's particularly exhausting. I can't bring my laptop on the actual exam but i can have it with me during classes.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Oh wow that sounds pretty intensive, both mentally and physically! It reminds me of those medicine students’ exams as well. Does this also mean you have to make sure you can physically pull through as well xD is it for your scholarship only or does that apply to all uni degrees in Phi? :0

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yup, we have to make sure we can make it physically too. We are bound to experience lots of stress during this time. It’s not for all degrees but on selected ones only. It’s not related to my scholarship at all.

  4. Wow awesome list and HEY I DO LOVE FAKIR he can come save me anytime I think it was his arrogant character that put people off I am tempted to do a post like this sometime you have inspired me yet again dear XD

    Liked by 1 person

    • YAY hahaha I think anybody who liked Princess Tutu would like Fakir 😀 He was arrogant at the start but he really was so good as the series progressed ^^ Glad to know I inspired you haha! I would love to know your choices if you ever do a list like this ^^

  5. While I only recognize 3 faces, I could argue that they are the best ones for the job description. I had completely forgotten about Migi, so seeing her/him/it on this list was cool. You’re right about Mr. Otosaka over there, him being one of the more emotionally-stirring characters of the past year. But I do have to give my bias to the superior-(complex) pilot of Unit-02: Asuka. She definitely made every episode of NGE worth it for me as well, and you can see her shell floating around in other anime series. It’s just a shame they can’t have such complex and relatable rhythms as Ms. Soryu.

    Liked by 1 person

    • To be honest, I don’t have Migi on my mind most of the time either. It/He/She appears randomly like a lightbulb here in my head (I love how we are so careful with the pronouns here HAHA :D)

Haha why am I not surprised with where your preferences lie? xD But Asuka really moved me more than Rei ever did. So complex, so irritating, and so sad. Its a weird combination, and maybe that’s why she really stands out for me. I don’t think its really possible nowadays to see any more superior versions of her character archetype.

  6. I totally loved the list! Especially, seeing Johann here made me very happy because Monster is truly majestic! Grimmer-san is also a bit undermentioned, in my opinion haha. I don’t know why more people are hyped about it, because of its animation quality?

    Liked by 1 person

    • Haha thank you :p I really have no idea why Monster is so unknown, its top rate thriller and storytelling! Perhaps its the age and the fact that the art isn’t so attractive. Ah yes, some of the supporting characters were really fascinating as well, contributing to the story and such ^^
